A dateless Rihanna, or at least looking dateless, sizzled on the red carpet at the 2008 MuchMusic Video Awards which was held at the Chum/City Building on Sunday in Toronto, Canada. The 20-year old R&B singer was awarded the first trophy of the night, Best International Video for her single ‘Don’t Stop the Music’. The Barbadian babe also won an MMVA for the MuchMusic.com Most Watched Video award for her smash hit ‘Umbrella’. Rihanna won both awards that she was nominated for. Congratulations! Now where exactly was your boyfriend when you were off cleaning house at awards shows? Where’s the support?

Gnarles Barkley’s video for their new single ‘Run’ can’t air on TV just yet. The video is suffering through some delays not because of nudity or excessive violence that needs to be remedied. What needs to be redone are the strobe features in the video because they are said to induce seizures. Stuff airing on TV needs to pass a Harding Test which was established to prevent images from triggering epileptic seizures. The video apparently failed the test. Gnarles Barkley’s Danger Mouse says the he’s hopeful that the situation can be resolved soon. He says “I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but we’re having issues. I think [the video] is cool. It works for me. But I’m not necessarily that easily seasick”

Their arrival times are 12 PM and 3 PM and the minimum age to attend is 12 and all tickets are free! If you choose to attend, you can watch Paula record her new song ‘Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow’, be in their music video and take part in Super Bowl history.

We’ve got a faker on our plates! During the ‘Best of Both Worlds Tour’, the Jonas Brothers and Miley ‘Hannah Montana’ Cyrus, rocked out to the song ‘We Got the Party (With Us)’. A video has been circulating the net confirming that we’ve been had!
At one point in the video, Miley’s dancer in a green shirt pulls out a black sheet and covers her up. She is then helped through a side door underneath the drums. Then a fake Hannah Montana comes out wearing the same outfit covered up with big white sunglasses. Although close ups of the faker make me think whether a man or a monkey can play Hannah. People are saying that the switch was made to make time for Miley’s costume change.

Janet Jackson goes through quite a transformation on the New York City set of her new ‘Feedback’ music video. The video is being helmed by British director Saam Farahmand.
ExtraTV.com got to talk to Janet on the set of the video and she got asked to comment on her new album entitled ‘Discipline’. She says “I love the dance. I love the mid tempo stuff. I love the slow songs and the baby making songs. It still has that element to it.” I guess it’s pretty clear that she loves the songs on her album. She also admitted that she knows how her songs put listeners in the mood by saying “You don’t know how many people come up to me and say, ‘This child was conceived listening to you.’”

Ashlee Simpson is still a singer everyone! The younger Simpson has actually filmed a new music video for her song ‘Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya). The video was directed by Alan Ferguson earlier this month. It shows Ashlee seeking counseling after an opinion overload from the voices of her family, record executives, fans, haters and the media.
Pete Wentz told MTV news what he thought about the video saying “It’s probably the weirdest video I’ve seen of hers. It’s like a Salvador Dalí painting meets ‘Being John Malkovich’. She just went to this weird place for it. It has this kind of multiple personality, like the song does.”
The video will premiere on TRL on December 20.

When you go off to use something, make sure someone else doesn’t own it, k?
The Red Hot Chili Peppers filed a lawsuit earlier in the week against Showtime Networks over a new show called ‘Californication’. And if your memory can go back to 1999, the band released a hit album and a hit single with the same name. The said album was even named as one of Rolling Stone’s Top 500 Albums of All Time.
The suit alleges that Showtime violated federal trademark law. In a statement made by lead singer Anthony Kiedis, “’Californication’ is the signature CD, video and song of the band’s career. For some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right.”

Carrie Underwood has released the music video for the song ‘Ever Ever After’. The song is actually part of the soundtrack of the upcoming comedy/fantasy musical Disney film ‘Enchanted’. The movie stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Susan Sarandon and Idina Menzel. ‘Enchanted’ uses a combination of live action, traditional animation and CGI and is set to be released on November 21.
The video was directed by Roman White and was filmed in the scorching heat of downtown Los Angeles back in August. Paparazzi actually got the first pictures of the shoot. I’m sure Carrie’s fairytale for that day was to get out of the hot sun.

If you thought that Britney Spears video for her not so hit of a single ‘Gimme More’ wasn’t bad enough, apparently, there’s an uncut version of the video making its way around the internet. The uncut version, much like the released one, sees Britney dancing around a stripper pole but this time, she’s topless!Britney can be seen taking off her leather vest and then thrusts her body to the beat while holding up her boobs with her bare hands. Yes, she may have pasties over her nipples but it’s still rather gratuitous.
Is she looking for work as a stripper now?
Posted in Hit Song, Music, New LP, New Single, Nicole Scherzinger, Singers, Solo, Video on the September 26, 2007

You have got to be kidding me. Is this all we get from the girl who was poised to be the next Beyonce or Jennifer Lopez? When it comes down to it, Nicole Scherzinger or Pussycat Dolls fame just didn’t cut it. She had the world in the palm of her hand and her pick of the best producers but she still failed. Too bad.
Nicole recently released the video for her second single ‘Baby Love’ off of her solo album ‘Her Name is Nicole’. Not only is the video quite a bore and overproduced but it’s also lacking in the emotion department. It’s a love song. Why would it not have any emotion in it?
The song and the video are okay. But come on! We’re all expecting so much more!
