Justin Timberlake took some time to write. But instead of writing songs, he wrote an article for The Chicago Tribune entitled ‘Out Loud with Justin Timberlake’. In the article, he talks about knowing Ray Allen and how he wants to meet race car driver Danica Patrick. He also talked about how his hero growing up was Michael Jordan and not the likes of Stevie Wonder or Michael Jackson. He says he was pretty convinced that he was going to be a basketball player except he never grew tall enough to be one. He also mentioned how his favorite athlete is Tiger Woods. You can read the full article on the paper’s website.

If you don’t want any spoilers for Madonna’s new tour then skip on this bit of news. The latest draft of her ‘Sticky and Sweet’ tour set list has been leaked. And let me just say, excellent song selection! The Queen of Pop is pulling out some songs she hasn’t performed since the 80s! The latest draft of songs include ‘Heartbeat’, ‘Candy Shop’, ‘Open Your Heart’, ‘Borderline’, ‘Miles Away’, ‘Dance Tonight’, ‘Everybody’, ‘Vogue’, ‘Beat Goes On’, ‘Who’s That Girl’, ‘Spanish Lesson’, ‘You’ll See’, ‘La Isla Bonita’, ‘Dress You Up’, ‘Rescue Me’, ‘Rain’, ‘Devil Wouldn’t Recognize You’, ‘She’s Not Me’, ‘Hung Up’, ‘Music’, ‘4 Minutes’, ‘Holiday’ and ‘Give it to Me’.

Mel B is recording a duet with Janet Jackson for her new album. The Spice Girls star, whose last single ‘Today’ failed to break the Top 40 when it was released in 2005, believes the collaboration will secure her chart success this time round.
She said: “I am doing something with Janet Jackson which should be amazing. I am also going to hook up with Missy Elliott again.”
Mel teamed up with Missy Elliott for her debut solo track ‘I Want You Back’. The 1998 track was her only single to top the charts after she left the Spice Girls. The 33-year-old singer insists she isn’t worried about going it alone again and is convinced she has the best people in the music business working on her third solo LP.
Mel added: “I am not scared of having another try. I am working with the best producers ever. I am now 10 tracks in to my new record.”
The star’s previous albums were ‘Hot’, which was released in 2000 and 2005’s ‘LA State Of Mind’.

Vanessa Hudgens recently premiered her new single ‘Sneakernight’ which comes off of her forthcoming sophomore album over at Radio Disney. The 19-year old ‘High School Musical’ star did not only play her new single, she also hosted the ‘Planet Premiere’ radio show last Friday. The song is pretty much a teenage girl party anthem which could have the potential of being a hit – a teeny bopper hit, but a hit nonetheless. It’s a pretty good pop song. I wonder if and when she comes out with a video for this, that her boyfriend Zac Efron will make a cameo. He was in her debut video.

Mariah Carey performed a two-song set during this past Saturday’s edition of Saturday Night Live. The 38-year old diva performed songs from her latest album ‘E=MC²’ which means ‘Emancipation equals Mariah Carey to the second power’. She sang her first single off the album ‘Touch My Body’ and a new song called ‘Migrate’. I thought ‘Touch My Body’ was a nice song but I’m really not feeling ‘Migrate’. It’s just a basic hip hop song that really did nothing for Mariah. It was so basic that even her back up dancers got basic. They needed to jazz up their outfits that were nothing more than a snore.
Posted in Album Release, Hit Song, Madonna, New LP, New Single, News, Song, Tracks Listing on the March 3, 2008

The track listing for Madonna’s new album has been unveiled and it is as follows:
1) Candy Store
2) 4 Minutes To Save The World
3) Give it 2 Me
4) Heartbeat
5) Miles Away
6) She’s Not Me
7) Incredible
Beat Goes On
9) Dance Tonight
10) Spanish Lesson
11) Devil
12) Voices
‘Spanish Lessons’? Pray that it’s not ‘La Isla Bonita’ part 2. And no, that’s not the actual cover of her album. With Madonna going crazy on magazine covers and giving racy pictures, I’m sure her album cover will be just as, if not more, racy than ever.

Rihanna kept it young and fresh in a shiny silver Dolce & Gabbana dress at the 2008 Brit Awards which was held at Earls Court in London on Wednesday. I’m still not that much into her choice of clothes for the red carpet but at the very least, this is better than the last couple of red carpet looks she’s had.
The Barbados singer performed on the show by teaming up with an unlikely partner in the form of British band Klaxons. They teamed up for a mash-up of her hit song ‘Umbrella’ and their song ‘Golden Skans’. With the number of ‘Umbrella’ renditions, she has to make hers different every time.

All I can say is, Natalie, honey, you better stay the heck away from London. Otherwise, Amy might go crazy on you.
Natalie Cole is speaking out against what she calls “rewarding bad behavior.” The singer says Amy Winehouse should never have been awarded five Grammy awards, especially for Song of the Year. She said, “I don’t think she should have won. I think it sends a bad message to our young people who are trying to get into this business, the ones who are trying to do it right and trying to keep themselves together.”
Natalie says she lost five years of her life to substance abuse and she feels for Amy. “I mean, she could die. This is about discipline and hard work, and you don’t get to just do your drugs and go onstage and get rewarded.”

It is most definitely on! Paula Abdul is going to perform her new song at the Super Bowl next weekend. But in a wise move, her big comeback will be pre-taped! Oh, thank God! However, if you want to catch her and Randy Jackson record their performance “live”, you can do so by heading to Fox Studios in Los Angeles on January 27. Their arrival times are 12 PM and 3 PM and the minimum age to attend is 12 and all tickets are free! If you choose to attend, you can watch Paula record her new song ‘Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow’, be in their music video and take part in Super Bowl history.

The American Idol judges took advantage of some time away from Simon and decided to pair up for a single on Randy’s new album. Fans are enthusiatic about the song, which they debuted on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. They can’t wait for Simon to hear it.
Paula says, “He’s going to be sick. He’ll be sick all season.”
The two decided that the single “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow” was the perfect song for Paula’s comeback. They heard the song while they were at San Diego auditions. Paula remembers, “Within five second, Randy said, ‘This is you.’”
Best of luck to the two hopefuls….

Janet Jackson goes through quite a transformation on the New York City set of her new ‘Feedback’ music video. The video is being helmed by British director Saam Farahmand.
ExtraTV.com got to talk to Janet on the set of the video and she got asked to comment on her new album entitled ‘Discipline’. She says “I love the dance. I love the mid tempo stuff. I love the slow songs and the baby making songs. It still has that element to it.” I guess it’s pretty clear that she loves the songs on her album. She also admitted that she knows how her songs put listeners in the mood by saying “You don’t know how many people come up to me and say, ‘This child was conceived listening to you.’”

Ashlee Simpson is still a singer everyone! The younger Simpson has actually filmed a new music video for her song ‘Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya). The video was directed by Alan Ferguson earlier this month. It shows Ashlee seeking counseling after an opinion overload from the voices of her family, record executives, fans, haters and the media.
Pete Wentz told MTV news what he thought about the video saying “It’s probably the weirdest video I’ve seen of hers. It’s like a Salvador Dalí painting meets ‘Being John Malkovich’. She just went to this weird place for it. It has this kind of multiple personality, like the song does.”
The video will premiere on TRL on December 20.

Have you listened to James Blunt’s recent album? All The Lost Souls. I have it, along with his first, and despite liking it I don’t listen to it very often. The reason being is it depresses the hell out of me.
But the singer says it’s no wonder being as he was freezing cold when he wrote it. James took himself off to Ibiza for three months expecting some peace and quiet in warmer climates. Mistakenly so.
He explains, “I wrote some more miserable songs. It was freezing. Some Spaniard stole my boiler. I was sitting there in a hat, coat and fingerless gloves. If the songs sound sad, you can understand why.”
Any volunteers to keep him warm on the next journey girls? Or perhaps James, you just need to research the expected weather before taking yourself off for three months at a time…

Here’s some proof that Mariah Carey is pretty much a household name. She doesn’t have a new album out yet she has a Top Ten single without even exerting any effort. She better thank the people who said that digital downloads count for something towards chart success. Her ‘All I Want for Christmas’ is #8 this week in the US according to Soundscan. It looks like people are really into the holiday spirit as Josh Groban’s Christmas album actually took the top spot by selling over 500,000 records this past week and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. Who knew Santa can be a big capitalist ploy?

Who knew that John Mayer has it in him to be a gangsta? He’s a closet Snoop Dogg fan!
Paparazzi caught up with the ever-eccentric crooner as he left a party at the Chateau Marmont on Monday. He was pimpin’ in the passenger seat of a black Mercedes as a Snoop rhyme was blasting from the speakers.
In a poor attempt to avoid answering any pap questions, John actually pulled a Paris Hilton by talking on a cell phone. But he actually one-ups the blonde socialite by having a phone at each ear! How would it even be possible to carry a conversation on two phones with people screaming questions at you?

The Red Hot Chili Peppers filed a lawsuit earlier in the week against Showtime Networks over a new show called ‘Californication’. And if your memory can go back to 1999, the band released a hit album and a hit single with the same name. The said album was even named as one of Rolling Stone’s Top 500 Albums of All Time.
The suit alleges that Showtime violated federal trademark law. In a statement made by lead singer Anthony Kiedis, “’Californication’ is the signature CD, video and song of the band’s career. For some TV show to come along and steal our identity is not right.”

Whitney Houston’s ex-husband is not only looking to get a new career in country music, he now has a new ride! Bobby Brown was spotted wearing a brace on his right leg as he was wheeled through LAX on Wednesday.
His rep spoke to some media and said that the 38-year old R&B singer started on his ‘New Jack Swing’ tour last week. During soundcheck for the second show, Bobby decided to try some new fancy foot work, he came down wrong and landed badly on his ankle. Any Bobby fans shouldn’t worry though, his rep says that “he’s doing great and will not disappoint. He’s on track for his scheduled performances this weekend in Atlanta and Ohio.”

Chris Brown’s Kiss Kiss hit has claimed a third week at the top of the singles chart. The track held off competition from Alicia Keys’ No One, which jumped up a spot to number two on the new chart. I Like His Song Wall to Wall as well. What’s excited me is that I always love it when there are fresh new stars that top the charts rather than having the likes of Justin Timberlake, 50 Cent, Jay-Z and Kanye West dominate the charts. It argues well for the music industry to have new stars on the scene like Soulja Boy and Sean Kingston. Timbaland’s Apologize slides to three, while Soulja Boy’s Crank That (Soulja Boy) refuses to slip out of the top five - it holds steady at four. Three week’s at the top is like it has to be great music and people are buying the CDs a lot give the number the thrust to remain on top of the singles chart.
